Legendary FAMU football coach Alonzo Smith (Jake) Gaither and his wife Sadie receive a standing ovation at his home in Tallahassee on his 88th birthday April 11, 1991. Gaither compiled a 203-36-4 record, a .844 winning percentage from 1945 till 1969. Gaither died two years later at 90.
