Panama City Beach traffic evacuates over the Hathaway Bridge as Hurricane Opal approaches the Florida panhandle as a category three storm when it came ashore near Pensacola, Florida October 4, 1995.  It was the strongest hurricane of the 1995 season and killed 63 people, 13 in the United States.  Hurricane Opal's name was retired the following year.
