A mother and her 4 year-old daughter try to rest in the hallway of the Popps Ferry Elementary School as Hurricane Georges bore down on Biloxi along the Mississippi coast September 27, 1998.  Georges made six landfalls through the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico before making it's 7th and final landfall near Biloxi.  604 people were killed mostly in Dominican Republic and haiti.  Because of the extensive damage, the name Georges was retired and will never be used again.
